Victoria: Where Urban Meets Suburban
One of Carver County's fastest-growing communities, Victoria every day welcomes new people to its neighborhoods. Ten lakes lie within Victoria’s boundaries, including Smithtown Bay of Lake Minnetonka, Auburn, Church, Tamarack, Virginia, Zumbra, Schutz, Stone and Stieger lakes. Parks abound for active and passive use. Lions Community Park offers softball/baseball fields, hockey, tennis, basketball and horseshoes. Diethelm Park is the home of baseball/softball fields, soccer/lacrosse fields, the Victoria Skate Park and the Victoria Field House, which contains an indoor ice arena, gymnasium and fitness center.
Recreational opportunities are endless in and near Victoria. The Lowry Nature Center and Carver Park Reserve are major attractions for those who appreciate nature and environmental protection. The University of Minnesota Horticultural Research Farm is located in Victoria, offering its 150-plus varieties of apples each fall. The University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum borders on the east.
With a recent downtown improvement project and an elementary school, the community is preparing for continued growth while preserving its small-town charm.
