Household hazardous waste must be disposed of properly to avoid endangering health and contaminating ground water. These wastes include: solvents, household cleaners, pesticides, paint, wood preservatives, aerosols, batteries, automotive oil and antifreeze. The best way to handle the waste – except those that are banned – is to use it or give it to someone who will. If these options are not available to you, please contact the county for collection information.
Sellers of automotive products may take used automotive wastes, perhaps for a fee. Check before bringing the waste in.
The county also schedules periodic hazardous waste collection programs.
